SAN FRANCISCO – September 30, 2025 – Voxel, the computer vision AI company, today announced that its customer, Alliance Ground International (AGI), achieved a 91% reduction in recordable injuries at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) using Voxel's AI-powered safety platform. AGI, a leading provider of ramp and cargo warehouse services across Canada and the US, completed this transformation in just one year while simultaneously improving operational efficiency.
AGI operates across 62 airports with over 12,000 employees, handling more than 1.8 million kilograms of cargo annually in high-tempo, high-risk environments. In 2022, the company's JFK hub documented 19 recordable injuries - workplace incidents that require medical treatment beyond first aid - and faced challenges with high turnover, elevated insurance costs, and limited visibility into daily operational risks.
"When we set out to transform our safety culture, we knew we needed more than traditional approaches," said Jared Azcuy, CEO of Alliance Ground International. "Voxel gave us the visibility and insights we needed to fundamentally change how we approach safety. Seeing such an impressive reduction in injuries while improving our operational efficiency proves that safety and productivity aren't competing priorities – they're complementary ones. This success has been so significant that we're now expanding Voxel across our highest-traffic sites."
AGI deployed Voxel's computer vision AI in January 2024, integrating the platform with existing CCTV cameras to gain 24/7 visibility into warehouse operations. The system focused on addressing powered industrial truck incidents, ergonomic behaviors, and risks associated with working at heights. Using Voxel's real-time insights, AGI embedded video clips into training programs, enabling positive coaching interactions and helping workers visualize safe practices in their actual work environment.
The results extend beyond injury reduction. JFK Airport achieved an 85% reduction in workers' compensation claim costs, an 83% reduction in struck-by forklift injuries, and a 50% decrease in forklift-related facility damage. The site also experienced increased throughput and reduced absenteeism, demonstrating that enhanced safety drives operational improvements.
“AGI's transformation demonstrates what's possible when organizations commit to proactive safety with the right technology foundation,” said Vernon O'Donnell, CEO of Voxel. “When workers have the tools to see and understand risks as they happen, and leadership empowers them to act on those insights, it creates a culture where safety becomes an organizational priority. AGI's success at JFK Airport is now scaling across their network, proving this approach works at any scale.”
After seeing results, AGI has expanded Voxel implementation to other major hubs including Atlanta International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, Chicago O'Hare, Miami International Airport and San Francisco International Airport. The company is planning full 6S implementation (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety) using Voxel's insights to redesign workflows for safety and improve asset organization for efficiency across its global operations.
